Is Carhartt Made in the USA?
Most Carhartt products are not made in the USA. The majority of Carhartt's catalog is now manufactured overseas. However, they do maintain a specific 'Made in USA' line that is genuinely cut and sewn at domestic facilities. Founded in 1889 in Detroit and now headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, Carhartt built its reputation on American-made workwear, but you need to look for the Made in USA label specifically — it is not the default.
Carhartt is one of those brands that basically defined American workwear. The brown duck Detroit Jacket is iconic. The brand loyalty among tradespeople, farmers, and outdoor workers is genuine and earned. If you want the real American-made Carhartt experience, seek out the pieces explicitly labeled as domestic. Where They Make It
Carhartt's Made in USA line comes from four Carhartt factories in Kentucky and Tennessee. Dearborn, Michigan is the headquarters, and "Dearborn" is also the name of its canvas fabric, which is where much of the confusion comes from. However, the bulk of their production happens overseas. Their "Made in USA" products are specifically labeled — if it does not say it on the tag, assume it is imported.

$15 – $250. The Made in USA pieces tend to sit at the higher end of that range, which is fair given the domestic production costs.
